![]() That's a different story than 'I want to dig UP hills and move them'.Īre you aware of the kind of soil you have - clay, sand, etc? Are there boulders buried in it? Tree roots? We have sloped land with lots of large boulders underneath (like, 400# boulders) and packed clay. ![]() I was expecting you to be asking 'I'm getting X yards of dirt and stone delivered and need to move them'. I don't want to break my back, so I was wondering if you guys could offer any advice on how to efficiently move a shitload of dirt from one place to another by hand. Unfortunately, I do not own any kind of tractor, and I expect this to take several weeks so renting a tractor isn't necessarily an option either. I am planning on turning the berm into a gentle slope creating a smooth slope by my driveway, eliminating the retaining wall and converting the side of my house to a tiered garden. In my backyard I have a dry ditch with light drainage that is pretty big. I have a berm above grade by the road and a retaining wall by my driveway that slopes downhill towards my backyard. ![]() Money is pretty tight, but I figured that if I reuse some blocks and stones in different areas of my yard, I can make a big improvement to my home. It is springtime now, and I have some pretty big ideas for my yard and home. ![]()
